PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif.—Police and FBI agents say a Southern California man posing as a teenager on the Internet has been arrested for having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Palos Verdes Estates police and the FBI on Monday raided the Harbor City home of 24-year-old Hugo Galindo Gonzalez. The FBI arrested him for using the Internet to induce a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity.
Police Capt. Mark Velez told the Daily Breeze in Torrance that Gonzalez used multiple false identities on the MySpace social networking site to contact and arrange a sexual rendezvous with the Palos Verdes Estates girl. Detectives say Gonzalez told the girl he was 19.
Investigators say Gonzalez is a sexual predator who may have targeted other girls in the South Bay area of Los Angeles.
